In conjunction with bumpNgrind records, she also began a fund for Disabled Artists of bumpNgrind which provides a nest-egg for bNg artists and their families, in the event an artist becomes unable to work, due to illness or a career-ending disability.

Cookie is also an accomplished web designer, graphic artist, a published writer, and a regular contributor to MAZE magazine (a feminist's journal), The Bump Squad and Emancipation (two e-zines published for Prince - now only in archives.)

The success of houndogradio.com is a testimonial to the life story of Webcaster Alliance Founding Member Frank Coon. Born blind, as a child Frank dreamed of becoming a radio broadcaster. He was naïve to the reality that his blindness would be an obstacle to his becoming a broadcaster. After graduating from High School he moved to Georgia and began a fifteen-year career as a vocalist and manager in the entertainment industry. In the spring of 1986 Frank’s life was changed by two events. First, he was struck by a van, which injured his back and forced him to rely on crutches for two years. Second, and more happily, he became aquainted with his lovely wife, Cathy who is also blind. When Frank was again able to work he decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a broadcaster. He obtained his broadcasting license from WRFGFM in Atlanta, GA in May 1989. Frank then sought employment as a radio broadcaster. Because broadcasting world was not willing to look past his disability, he was forced to take a job in the computer industry.

The technological revolution known as the Internet has allowed Frank to realize his dream of becoming a radio broadcaster. In 1999 Frank began working on the concept of houndogradio.com. His wonderful wife Cathy assisted him in many ways. All of Frank's hard work and his childhood dream of being a radio broadcaster was fulfilled in June of 2000 when houndogradio.com went on the air.

When Webcaster Alliance Founding Member Thomas Mondell heard his first broadcast of the BBC online (which launched in 1997), his imagination went nuts and he began to think that maybe he could fulfill his dream of becoming a station owner in the broadcasting industry.

Mondell, founder of WhereverRadio.com took his enterprenurial spirit and a page from the book of the late sixties radio ethics and began to expose his listeners to a quality of music they had never heard before. Today he considers one of his biggest professional accomplishments to be the fact that he still receives emails from listeners thanking him for bringing music to their attention they would have never picked on their own.

Webcaster Alliance Founding Member Mike Hays has been in the music business in one form or another for over 30 years and brings a wealth of experience in the area of radio as well as marketing and music expertise to the team. Born just south of Nashville (Pulaski, TN) and growing up in a house full of music it was almost a given that he'd end up in the music business after showing an interest in all things musical from the age of five. Over the years he has worked with local bands, served in the US Navy Pacific Fleet show band and worked as a radio DJ. Now a recording and touring artist with his act, Mike Hays & the Bailers, he travels the U.S. on his tour bus playing everything from clubs to festivals. In past years he has been honored to open shows for some of the greatest names in the industry including Emmylou Harris, Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley, the Seldom Scene, Ricky Van Shelton and many others. It was his vision and radio experience that launched TwangCast.com as an alternative to broadcast radio, yet in the style of a radio station on the Internet.

That vision continues to expand as does TwangCast, through the addition of many pages of content delivering news and information about the music he loves. Thanks to the artists who create Real Country Music and the fans who tune in on the Internet, TwangCast will continue to support the mostly independent music scene, giving those artists who work so hard for the love of the music and very little financial reward, a valuable worldwide audience and just maybe, the opportunity to make a living doing what they love the most, making Real Country Music!
